Brenda suddenly passed away at the age of 74 at the Neepawa Health Centre on January 10, 2026, after a long battle with health issues and brain tumours.
Brenda was born May 14, 1951 in Melford, Saskatchewan, before her family moved to Pine Falls, MB when she was around 5 years old, where later in life she met her beloved Don who she was married to for 39 years before he passed away in 2008.
Left to cherish her memories is sons: Roger (Violet), Ryan (Maureen); grandchildren: Bradley, Thomas, David (Bianca), Nick/Emily, Kristina (Stephen), Mark; siblings: Bernice (Tom), Jeff (Deb), Greg (Deb); Don’s siblings: Corrine, Ralph, Cal (Nettie).
Brenda was predeceased by her beloved Don, her parents, Tom and Mary, her baby sister Bonnie, Don’s parents, Horace and Anne, and Don’s brother-in-law Jerry.
Though life had become challenging for Brenda, she still found positives and joys in life. Some of her favourite things were being able to sit outside in the sunshine and cool breeze listening to the birds, and listening to the music and songs sung at Country Meadows.
The family would like to thank Country Meadows for their years of care provided to Brenda, especially to the nurses who understood Brenda the best and would joke with her or play along with her personality. She had her favourite nurses that she always talked highly about, and told us about. You made her experience and life there enjoyable and made it like a second family.
We’d also like to express our thanks to the individuals that go to Country Meadows to sing and play music, that was one of the biggest joys Brenda had there, she loved listening to the music and couldn’t wait for you all to come.
The family would also like to express our deepest thank you to the Neepawa Health Centre for the excellent support and care of Brenda in her final moments, for doing everything you could do, and doing a wonderful job of keeping her comfortable. As a community we are lucky to have the support system that we do!
The funeral service will be held May 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. graveside in Minnedosa Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Minnedosa Community Conference Centre.
